"On Thursday, November 14, there will be three big winners: 1) You.  You’ll shop in Fairhaven in well-stocked shops before the holiday throngs arrive, 2) Your Friends and Loved Ones. You’ll find gifts to suit every age and taste in shops throughout the district, and 3) 20 Whatcom County Non-profits. 10% of all sales from participating merchants will be donated to charitable organizations in the community.
How does it work?  Simply come to Fairhaven and look for the Fairhaven Gives Back sign in the windows and doors of participating merchants.  When you make a purchase you’ll be handed a checklist with 20 local non-profits from which to pick your favorite (the 20 organizations were chosen by lottery from all eligible applicants).  10% of your purchase will be donated to the non-profit you selected. Begin your holiday season in a giving mood.  Come to Fairhaven for the 1st Annual Fairhaven Gives Back.  Everybody wins.”
